2. Data we collect and why

Contact form:  name, email address, phone number, and message. Used solely to respond to your enquiry. Legal basis: your consent (given when you tick the acceptance checkbox and submit the form).

Newsletter: email address. Used to send you seasonal updates and offers from A Villa by the Sea. Legal basis: your consent, which you may withdraw at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email.

Booking requests: name, email address, phone number, and stay details (room, dates, number of guests). Submitted directly through our website and managed exclusively by us. Used to confirm and manage your reservation and, where a stay takes place, to fulfil our legal obligations as a registered accommodation provider.

Legal basis: performance of a contract and compliance with legal obligations.

3. How long we keep your data

Contact messages are kept for up to 12 months. Newsletter subscriptions are retained until you unsubscribe. Booking records are kept for the period required by Portuguese tax and accounting law (generally 10 years).

4. Who we share your data with

We do not sell or rent your personal data. We may share it only with service providers strictly necessary to operate the website (hosting, email delivery) and, where required, with public authorities such as SEF/AIMA for guest registration obligations. All providers are bound by confidentiality obligations and, where applicable, act as data processors under GDPR-compliant agreements.
